Both the Savana Cargo and the ProMaster EV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available collision warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rear parking sensors.

Warranty

The Savana Cargo’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the ProMaster EV’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Engine

The Savana Cargo’s standard 4.3 V6 produces 8 more horsepower (276 vs. 268) than the ProMaster EV’s electric motor. The Savana Cargo’s optional 6.6 V8 produces 133 more horsepower (401 vs. 268) and 162 lbs.-ft. more torque (464 vs. 302) than the ProMaster EV’s electric motor.

Opt Rear Rotors

The Savana Cargo’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the ProMaster EV are solid, not vented.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Savana Cargo has larger tires than the ProMaster EV (245/75R16 vs. 225/75R16).

The GMC Savana Cargo’s wheels have 8 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Ram ProMaster EV only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Savana Cargo has a standard full size spare so a flat doesn’t interrupt your work or a trip. A full size spare costs extra on the ProMaster EV. Without the option you must depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Chassis

The GMC Savana Cargo may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 350 pounds less than the Ram ProMaster EV.

The Savana Cargo 2500 135” WB is 1 foot shorter than the ProMaster EV, making the Savana Cargo easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Savana Cargo is 17.8 inches shorter in height than the ProMaster EV, making the Savana Cargo much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

Passenger Space

The Savana Cargo offers optional seating for 5 passengers; the ProMaster EV can only carry up to 3.

Payload and Towing

The Savana Cargo’s minimum standard towing capacity is much higher than the ProMaster EV’s (7100 vs. 6410 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Ram ProMaster EV is only 6410 pounds. The Savana Cargo 2500 135” WB offers up to a 10,000 lbs. towing capacity.

The Savana Cargo 3500 155” WB has a much higher standard payload capacity than the ProMaster EV (4060 vs. 3020 lbs.).

The Savana Cargo 3500 135” WB has a much higher optional payload capacity than the ProMaster EV (4280 vs. 3020 lbs.).

Servicing Ease

The Savana Cargo offers an optional under hood light to help in making nighttime maintenance checks, adding fluids, etc. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer an under hood light.

Ergonomics

The Savana Cargo offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Savana Cargo’s optional tilting steering column adjusts to different sized drivers and makes entering and exiting easier. Ram doesn’t offer tilt steering on the ProMaster EV.
